Basics on the side, there are quite a few multi-level marketing alternatives.
The low cost segment, crowded with multiple competitors can not support a niche dominated by customized services and unique job requirements. The $$$ are just not there.
Sales people and multi-forms on sites mostly do not work, as the client specific requirements are somewhat lost alsong the line to the ultimate guys completing the project.
No real time calendar scheduling connection yet (working on it, leaning towards android):
Call for service availability (we might just happen to be in your town)
Consider few alternate time slots prior to calling and making arrangement with your seller
Please be as specific as possible as to the job at hand
"We'll call you right back" could happen, if we're in the middle of a job.
Texting is also fine.

Our team has worked together to take the concept to new heights in its relatively short life. We have a group of some wonderfully talented people taking the most exciting CL delivery projects daily.
Recently we had an interesting experience I'd like to share: the CL buyer had a fully paid purchase of a deresser in Framingham, and had scheduled a delivery time. Having both the buyer and the seller at address 1 for us was the best case scenario. All on time, till the buyer said "Can you guys wait outside c'ause we have a situation here..." turns out that the seller would not open the door, initially was in communication with the buyer but later completely went into hiding. We left the buyer calling 911, and waisted easy a couple of hours...Don't know the end of the story...
The unusual thing about the story: the dresser wasn't even that expensive. Of course, everyone knows that there are scams out there on the CL: but till now I thought those were all in the "computers" & "cell phones" sections...WOW, the economy must be really tough for people trying to mess with buyers with cheap pieces of furniture..
Word of advise: do not fully pay for something to picked up later. And always watch out for "crazy people"!

Ivan & Dimitri have 20+ combined years of furniture delivery experience throughout metro Boston & New England. Most of that was with a great company which is no loger around - Dial-a-Mattress. We were very lucky and fortunate to be a part of a terrific team - great culture, great people and great founder/manager. The company really cared for the Customer, and taught us a lot as to how we should deal with our customers.
We've done commercial contracts with Bob's & Ikea. All along we've also ran our moving company.
BCLDH is an affiliate of our fully licenced MA moving business. It is only a diversification arm, intended to fill the market niche for LTL. Freelancing with CL items has been an interesting journey. So far, the responce has been great; we are considering opening the calendar for all days. The calendar is open for the weekend only for now, as we streamline our marketing efforts and that seems the only convenient time for all the buyers and sellers.
Phone Support | No Sales People | No phone support out of India
Our phone support is not the greatest, but we are ultimately only 2 guys. There's no way we could affort to have a dedicated phone person with the current everyday low prices, and we are not planning on outsorsing this to India. Please note that you are talking directly with the guys getting your job done; the trade: sometimes we might have to play phone tag. It is a bit difficult to provide excellent phone service and carry a three seater sleeper sofa to the third floor at the same time.
For pre-purchase decisions, please e-mail us with the link to the item and the details at each address: we'll gladly give you a quote. Same day jobs have to be agreed to over the phone.
The availability & booking calendar is intended to give you an ided of what our availability is. Only when you are sertain of your and your seller's schedules book a time slot. Multiple bookings of several timeslots will only confuse everyone.
Accuracy on the Availability & Booking Calendar
Not accurate at all. The simple curbside to curbside jobs, and very light items first floor to first floor (garage) will fit in the $29 minimum. A few orders each weekend are in that category.
The average order falls in the $50 range. Mostly that is due to the stairs, multiple items, and/or miles.
We are here to work with you to make the deal. It is in everyone's interest to make another great deal on the list. At the same time we have our costs, and the already low prices do not allow us to move much lower.
- It is absolutely possible to get an average job done in one hour (within the highlighted free Boston miles area).
- Slicing the day into time slots allows for an organized approach to the mess of requests: with a scheduled times in a day, all parties involved are on the same page.
- LTL saves money; larger jobs (caused by extras) will take more than one time slot.
- Both sides: Boston craigslist (CL) buyers & sellers benefit.
- Border edges of the time slots are shared between customers.
- One person's trash is another person's treasure ...
- Prepare to be amazed!
There are challenges with the concept: if each job is "hourly, or service based", then time slots become stretchable and overlapping will make those meaningless.
